Commiphora incisa seeds grow into a deciduous caudiciform shrub from the desert and dry shrubland biome of the Horn of Africa and East Africaa name used in the trade for material belonging to the Commiphora kua complex, which ranges from Eritrea and Ethiopia south through Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to Zambia, and also extends to the south-western Arabian Peninsula. The epithet incisa refers to the deeply cut or incised leaf margins, a character within the variation of the broader kua group. Like all Commiphora, it develops a spiny, swollen stem with peeling aromatic bark and is fully deciduous in the dry season. Family Burseraceae.
